Jurel Takes Centre Stage
The 23-year-old Jurel crafted a composed and authoritative knock of 115 runs off 177 balls, demonstrating remarkable temperament and technique against the Sri Lankan bowling attack. His innings proved to be the cornerstone of India's imposing first-innings effort, which ultimately ended in a declaration at 503 for 9.
The mammoth total immediately placed the home side under severe pressure, with India's bowlers eager to make early inroads before the close of play.
Rain and Poor Light Disrupt Day Two
The second day's proceedings were significantly hampered by inclement weather, with rain and bad light repeatedly interrupting play at the Colombo venue.
