Former SIS Chief Suresh Sallay files writ petition challenging arrest and detention
Major General (Retired) Suresh Sallay, who was the head of the State Intelligence Service, has submitted a writ petition to the Court of Appeal. He is contesting his arrest and detention by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA). The petition names several respondents, including Inspector General of Police Priyantha Weerasuriya, CID Director Shani Abeysekara, Secretary of the Ministry of Public Security Ravi Seneviratne, Reverend Father Rohan Silva, and the Attorney General, according to a report by Ada Derana.
