President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is set to launch a special series of public rallies spanning all districts of Sri Lanka, beginning on September 5, Health and Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayathissa announced on Thursday.
Speaking to the media in Kalutara, Minister Jayathissa confirmed that the President would personally address gatherings across the country as part of what he described as a significant nationwide public outreach campaign.
A Direct Message to the People
The planned rally series is expected to give President Dissanayake a platform to engage directly with citizens in every district, reinforcing his administration's connection with grassroots communities throughout the island.
Challenge Thrown at the Opposition
During his remarks, Minister Jayathissa also took the opportunity to issue a challenge to the Opposition, signalling that the ruling party is confident in its public standing and prepared to defend its record before the Sri Lankan electorate.
The announcement comes as the government continues to consolidate its political position following its election victories, with the district-wide rally tour seen as a strategic effort to maintain momentum and strengthen public support across all regions of the country.
Further details regarding the schedule and specific venues for each district are expected to be released in the coming days.

Every goverment does these tours. Nothing new here, just politics.
Good. Let the president face the ppl directly and explain what is happening.
But will he answer real questions or just give another long speech?
