Iranians begin forming human chains around power plants ahead of Trump s deadline

Iranians have come together in large groups at bridges and power plants throughout the country, creating human chains to protect these sites, according to state media reports on Tuesday. This action follows a warning from U.S. President Donald Trump, who said there could be attacks on important infrastructure in Iran, such as bridges and power plants, unless Tehran agrees to his demands to end the conflict. Videos released by Iran's state media, Press TV, showed crowds of people holding flags and standing outside these facilities. Many formed what looked like human shields around locations that the U.S. has threatened to hit. The Iranian government had previously called on civilians, including young people, artists, and athletes, to join this initiative. Alireza Rahimi, who is the Secretary of the Supreme Council of Youth and Adolescents, urged the youth to create human chains to safeguard essential infrastructure. He mentioned that this idea originated from the youth themselves. “Some university students, young artists, and youth organizations suggested that we form a human ring or chain around the power plants in the country,” he stated. He added that the campaign, named “Human Chain of Iran’s Youth for a Bright Future,” aims to demonstrate unity and resolve. Earlier, Trump had issued another stark warning, stating, “a whole civilization will die tonight” if Iran does not meet his deadline to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and agree to a deal. In a message on Truth Social, Trump remarked, “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS?
