President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, in his Vesak Day message, encouraged all Sri Lankans to embrace Buddhist values of non-violence, compassion, and unlimited loving-kindness for all living beings. He noted that the Vesak festival marks three significant events in Lord Buddha’s life: his birth, his enlightenment, and his passing (Nirvana). This is the most sacred celebration for Buddhists worldwide. The people of Sri Lanka, with their rich Buddhist heritage, join others around the globe in honoring this important occasion.
