In 2026, over 150,000 Indian tourists have traveled to Sri Lanka, according to the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA). In April alone, 26,800 visitors arrived in the country, as reported by SLTDA. Among those, 7,562 were from India, making up 28.0% of the total. Additionally, April saw arrivals of 2,854 tourists from the United Kingdom, 2,794 from Australia, 1,623 from Russia, and 1,537 from China. In March, Sri Lanka welcomed a total of 183,979 tourists. The cumulative number of visitors to Sri Lanka in 2026 has now reached 767,434, with 154,835 coming from India, 81,274 from the UK, and 67,274 from Russia, as indicated by SLTDA.
