Parliament in Sri Lanka is set to discuss the ongoing situation in the country tomorrow. The government will present an adjournment motion for this debate. According to the Secretary General of Parliament, Kushani Rohanadeera, the session will start on the 8th of the month, following a meeting chaired by Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne. During this meeting, it was decided that from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Parliament will conduct its business according to Standing Orders 22(1) to (6). Following that, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., there will be a time for Questions for Oral Answers. Afterward, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Questions under Standing Order 27(2) will be addressed. The debate on the government's adjournment motion about the current situation will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Additionally, no changes will be made to the scheduled Parliamentary business for Thursday and Friday. It was also announced that the second Parliamentary week of April will not occur due to the upcoming Sinhala and Tamil New Year festival.
