Today, on the 8th of October, Parliament in Sri Lanka will discuss an adjournment motion about the current situation in the country. The debate is set to run from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Prior to the debate, Parliament will start at 9:30 a.m. This schedule was decided in a meeting yesterday, led by Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne. The first half hour, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., will be used for regular parliamentary business as per Standing Order 22(1) to (6). Following that, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., there will be a session for Questions for Oral Answers. Afterward, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., time has been set aside for Questions under Standing Order 27(2).
