Sarath Kongahage, the former Chairman of the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC), along with the former Director General, Devapriya Abeysinghe, has been taken into custody by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC). They are accused of hiring six staff members outside the official SLRC cadre and assigning them to work for former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella. The SLRC covered their salaries, leading to a reported financial loss of Rs. 14.32 million for the government, as stated by the Bribery Commission.
