The Kotmale Reservoir in Sri Lanka is currently experiencing a water level of just 21.8% due to the ongoing dry weather affecting its catchment areas, according to the resident engineer. He mentioned that the total water storage in the reservoir is now at 37,276 million cubic meters. The Water Control Secretariat is overseeing the management of water releases for power generation. Additionally, water levels at the Upper Kotmale Reservoir, which is situated upstream, have also fallen because of the current dry conditions.
