Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, stated on Monday that the 15-point proposal from the US to stop the conflict includes “excessive, unrealistic, and unreasonable demands.” This statement contradicts President Donald Trump's earlier remarks that Iran had agreed to “most of” the items on the list. Baghaei noted that there are no direct talks happening between Iran and the United States, explaining that communications from Washington have only come through third parties. He told a press conference, reported by the state news agency IRNA, “We have not had any direct negotiations with the United States until now.” Furthermore, Baghaei mentioned that Iran did not take part in recent meetings organized by Pakistan with neighboring countries, indicating that these discussions were based on a framework not approved by Iran. He said, “The meetings that Pakistan conducts with its neighboring nations follow a framework they have created themselves, and we have not engaged in this framework.” Over the weekend, Pakistan announced its readiness to host and facilitate discussions between the US and Iran “in the coming days,” after a meeting in the Pakistani capital with foreign ministers from four countries.
