Iran threatens to target US, Israeli infrastructure if attacked amid Trump s power plant ultimatum
Iran issued a warning on Sunday, stating that it would target all US and Israeli infrastructure in the region if its facilities were attacked. This threat followed an ultimatum from US President Donald Trump. A spokesperson from the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, which manages Iranian military operations, declared, "If the enemy attacks Iran’s fuel and energy infrastructure, all energy, information technology, and desalination facilities belonging to the United States and Israel will be struck." This statement was reported by Fars News Agency. The warning came soon after Trump demanded on Saturday that Tehran must open the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours or face military action against its power plants, beginning with the largest one. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi cautioned that Iran would respond with "zero restraint" if its infrastructure faced any attacks. The Strait of Hormuz has been largely disrupted since early March, causing oil prices to rise. The US-Israeli military actions against Iran began on February 28 and have reportedly resulted in at least 1,300 deaths, including that of former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
