Americans urged to leave 14 countries across Middle East
The US embassy in Baghdad has issued a new alert for Americans to leave Iraq after a missile struck the embassy building on Saturday. The embassy advised its citizens to “leave Iraq now.” It also urged US citizens who plan to stay in Iraq to think again due to the high danger from Iran-aligned terrorist groups. As Iran has been attacking US locations in the Middle East, the US government has recommended that its citizens exit 14 countries in that area. Additionally, the US announced on Saturday that non-emergency government workers and their family members must leave Oman, as reported by Reuters. In related news, the Saudi Arabian defense ministry shared on its official X account that it recently intercepted and destroyed seven drones in Riyadh and the Eastern Region. Earlier today, officials in Dubai and Qatar also mentioned that they successfully intercepted air threats. Dubai’s media office stated on X that the sounds heard in the Marina and Al Sufouh areas were due to these successful interceptions. Kuwait has also reported multiple drone interceptions.
