India raises infrastructure spending to record 12.2 trillion rupees for 2026-27

India's central government plans to allocate a historic 12.2 trillion rupees (equivalent to $133.08 billion) for infrastructure in the financial year starting April 1, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced during her budget speech on Sunday.
