Shanakiyan raises concerns about move to suspend Deputy Secretary General of Parliament allegedly without an inquiry
Member of Parliament Shanakiyan Rasamanickam has expressed his worries regarding the suspension of Chaminda Kularatne, the Deputy Secretary General of Parliament and Chief of Staff. He claims that this suspension occurred without a charge sheet, an investigation, or the opportunity for Kularatne to defend himself. MP Rasamanickam stated that when proper procedures fail in Parliament, it sends a very troubling message to the people of Sri Lanka. Kularatne was suspended starting Friday, the 23rd. The Parliament Staff Advisory Committee (SAC), led by Speaker of the House Jagath Wickramaratne, made the decision to suspend him. This action is reportedly connected to alleged irregularities related to his appointment.
