PM meets Secretary-General of the Commonwealth of Nations

Their talks covered important topics like climate change, climate finance, democratic governance, women's political participation, and ongoing support for member states. The Prime Minister emphasized Sri Lanka’s dedication to building resilience, promoting sustainable development, and ensuring inclusive governance, while also appreciating the Commonwealth Secretariat's ongoing support. The Secretary-General confirmed the Commonwealth's commitment to assist Sri Lanka with technical help, capacity-building projects, and collaboration on climate finance and electoral governance. Both leaders exchanged thoughts on future Commonwealth events and stressed the need to strengthen cooperation among member states to tackle common global issues. The Prime Minister was accompanied by High Commissioner Nimal Senadeera and senior officials from the Sri Lankan High Commission during the meeting.
