Sri Lanka and Belarus to sign several MoUs

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism, Vijitha Herath, is currently visiting Belarus from yesterday until Friday (15th), following an invitation from Belarusian Foreign Minister, Maxim Ryzhenkov. According to a release from the Foreign Ministry, "This visit will be a significant step in strengthening ties, as the two nations celebrated 25 years of diplomatic relations last year." While in Minsk, Minister Herath will meet with President Alexander Lukashenko and hold talks with the Belarusian Foreign Minister. Additionally, he is set to meet with the Ministers of Education and Health of Belarus. During this trip, several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements are expected to be signed in various sectors. In Minsk, Minister Herath will also speak at a business and tourism roundtable hosted by the National Export Centre of Belarus. Furthermore, he plans to meet Sri Lankan students studying in Belarus.
