Gold prices in Sri Lanka have risen sharply due to an increase in the global market. Traders at the Colombo Pettah market reported that the local price of gold went up by Rs. 7,000 today. As a result, a 22-carat gold sovereign is now priced at Rs. 363,400. Additionally, the cost of a 24-carat gold sovereign has also risen, going from Rs. 388,000 yesterday to Rs. 395,000 today, according to market traders.
