Eighty people have been detained during a special police operation at the Dambulla Dedicated Economic Centre. This operation lasted for two hours and involved officers from Dambulla and nearby police stations. The police discovered that some of those arrested had drugs like cannabis and heroin. They also mentioned that some of these individuals had previously avoided legal action for different crimes. The operation was organized in response to a rise in anti-social behavior in the area, which included repeated thefts of vegetables from farmers and the stealing of vehicle parts.
