Sun directly over parts of Sri Lanka today

Today, parts of Sri Lanka will experience sunshine directly overhead. According to the Department of Meteorology, showers and thundershowers are expected in several areas, including the Northern, Eastern, North-central, Central, and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as the districts of Puttalam, Galle, and Matara, starting after 2:00 p.m. There may be morning showers in the coastal areas of the Western province, along with Puttalam and Jaffna districts. In the early morning hours, mist is likely to occur in some regions of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva provinces, and in Ampara district. The public is advised to take necessary precautions against possible strong winds and lightning during the thundershowers. This year, from April 5 to April 15, the sun will be directly above the latitudes of Sri Lanka. Today, on April 6, the areas closest to where the sun is overhead around noon at 12:13 are Beruwala, Gurulubadda, Rakwana, Godakawela, Udawalawe, and Thanamalwila.
