The Department of Meteorology has announced that showers or thundershowers will begin in many areas of Sri Lanka after 1:00 p.m. today (04). Some regions in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, North Central, and Eastern provinces could see fairly heavy rainfall, exceeding 75 mm. Additionally, misty weather is expected in parts of the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, and North-Central provinces, as well as in the Kurunegala and Vavuniya districts during the early morning hours. The public is advised to take proper precautions to reduce the risk of damage from sudden strong winds and lightning associated with the thundershowers.
