A 16-year-old boy from the Perathuweli area has sadly drowned in a canal in the Kantale police division. He had taken the G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L) exam earlier this year. The tragedy happened while he was swimming in the canal with three friends. After the incident, local residents and young people came together to search for him. They found his body about 300 meters from where he had been swimming. The Kantale Police are looking into the matter further.
