Passenger arrested after over 25kg Kush found inside silencers at BIA
A 38-year-old man from Ragama was arrested today (2) at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) for trying to smuggle over 25 kilograms of 'Kush' cannabis into Sri Lanka. The cannabis is valued at Rs. 255.5 million, according to Customs officials. The suspect works as a motorcycle silencer repairer and was caught while trying to leave through the 'Red Channel.' He arrived at the airport on SriLankan Airlines flight UL 403 from Bangkok at 11:50 a.m. Customs officers discovered 25 kilograms and 500 grams of 'Kush' hidden inside 16 silencers packed in four pieces of luggage. The man and the confiscated drugs have been sent to the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) at BIA for further investigation.
