Sri Lankan police reported that more than 500 people were arrested during anti-drug operations carried out across the island on February 2. A total of 29,033 individuals were checked during these actions. Out of those detained, 10 were specifically linked to criminal activities. The police also arrested 222 people who had outstanding warrants and 136 others who were wanted for various reasons. Additionally, 115 individuals were taken into custody for driving while intoxicated. Another 110 were arrested for reckless driving, and legal measures have been initiated against 4,498 people for different traffic offences, according to police sources.
