In a special anti-drug operation in the Badowita areas 1, 2, and 3 of the Mount Lavinia Police Division, authorities arrested at least 14 people. This operation involved the Mount Lavinia Division, the Criminal Investigation Department, and the Sri Lanka Navy. During the raid, police confiscated 2,830 mg of heroin, 3,890 mg of crystal methamphetamine (known as ‘Ice’), 6,000 mg of cannabis, and 10 narcotic pills. Out of the 14 arrested, nine were wanted on existing warrants, according to police. The operation aimed to identify organized criminals, major drug traffickers, wanted suspects, and individuals from other areas who had come to stay in the region.
