Three arrested for illegal fuel hoarding in separate raids
Three people have been taken into custody for illegally storing fuel during separate operations carried out in various locations across Sri Lanka. These arrests occurred yesterday (26) in the police divisions of Negombo, Puthukkudiyiruppu, and Hingurakgoda. The Negombo Police apprehended a 57-year-old man during a raid in the Negombo Lagoon. He was found with 1,050 liters of diesel on a fishing boat, lacking a valid license. In another operation, a 36-year-old man was arrested by Puthukkudiyiruppu Police last evening in the Suthanthirapuram area for holding 562 liters of diesel without proper authorization. Additionally, the Hingurakgoda Police arrested another 36-year-old man in Yaya 7 for illegally storing 1,995 liters of kerosene without a valid license. Investigations are ongoing by the respective police stations concerning these cases.
