Three US service members killed in action, military says

The US military announced that three service members have died in action. Additionally, five others have suffered serious injuries, as reported by US Central Command. The military's statement noted, “Several more experienced minor shrapnel wounds and concussions and are being processed to return to duty.” It continued, “Major combat operations are ongoing, and our response efforts continue.” The situation remains unpredictable, so to honor the families, we will not release further details, including the names of the deceased, until 24 hours after their next of kin have been informed.
