Two suspects arrested for aiding and abetting Dehiwala and Kohuwala shootings

Two individuals have been taken into custody by the Western Province South Crime Division for their involvement in two shootings in Dehiwala and Kohuwala. The suspects helped in the shooting of a hotel owner in Dehiwala on January 9, 2026, and the shooting of a person in a three-wheeler in the Bodhiyawatta area of Kohuwala on December 12, 2025. During the arrest, police found 14 grams and 730 milligrams of Crystal Methamphetamine, known as ‘Ice,’ with the suspects. The arrested individuals are both 18 years old and live in Boralgamuwa and Mount Lavinia, according to police reports. Authorities discovered that these suspects acted under the guidance of an organized crime leader and drug dealer who is based overseas. The Western Province South Crime Division is continuing its investigation into the case.
