Probe on release of 323 containers from Colombo Port without inspection to conclude within three months
The Select Committee of Parliament, tasked with investigating the release of 323 containers from Colombo Port without required inspections, will meet every Wednesday. These weekly meetings will start at 2:00 p.m. for the purpose of conducting their investigation, as announced by the Department of Communication of Parliament. This decision was made during the committee's first meeting, which was chaired by Minister of Justice and National Integration Harshana Nanayakkara. The committee will gather again tomorrow. In this meeting, they will discuss how to proceed with future investigations and decide which parties to call in. Minister Harshana Nanayakkara mentioned that the committee aims to complete its investigation within three months.
