Large number of local and foreign tourists visit Nuwara Eliya amid record low temperatures

Nuwara Eliya has welcomed a large influx of both local and foreign tourists over the weekend. Many people are coming to see the early-morning frost in Nuwara Eliya and nearby areas, as reported by Ada Derana reporters. This past Thursday, the region experienced its lowest temperature in 17 years, dropping to 3.5°C. According to the Department of Meteorology, this is the coldest temperature recorded in Sri Lanka since 2009.
