Rain or thunderstorms could also happen in some areas of the Uva and Eastern provinces, as well as in Polonnaruwa district after 2:00 p.m. Strong winds, reaching speeds of 30 to 40 km/h, may be felt at times in the Western slopes of the central hills, Northern, North-central, North-western provinces, and Hambantota district. The public is advised to take precautions to reduce damage from temporary strong winds and lightning during thunderstorms. Showers will also be seen at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-western, and Northern provinces, along with the Anuradhapura, Galle, and Matara districts.
