Prices of multiple food items to increase from midnight today

The All Ceylon Restaurant Owners’ Association has announced that starting at midnight today (07), the prices for Fried Rice, Biryani, and Nasi Goreng will rise by Rs. 25. Additionally, restaurants that use Laughs Gas cylinders will also see an increase in the cost of plain tea and milk tea. Harshana Rukshan, the chairman of the association, mentioned that about 25% to 30% of dining places use Laughs Gas cylinders and are struggling with the increasing costs of LP gas. As a result, the price for plain tea at these locations will go up by Rs. 5, while milk tea will cost an extra Rs. 10. Short eats will also see a price hike of Rs. 5. However, the association confirmed that there will be no price changes for ‘Egg Rotis’ and ‘Parathas’.
