Maldivian President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu is set to visit Sri Lanka tomorrow, May 4, for a two-day State Visit. This visit is at the invitation of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. It will be President Muizzu’s first official trip to Sri Lanka since he took office in 2023, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism. During his stay, President Muizzu plans to have discussions with President Dissanayake to enhance the long-standing relationship and cooperation between both nations. Several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) are anticipated to be signed, showcasing the commitment of both countries to increase collaboration across various sectors. Accompanying President Muizzu will be First Lady Sajidha Mohamed, senior Cabinet Ministers including the Foreign Minister, and a group of high-ranking officials from the Maldivian government.
