Two people died from electrocution on a piece of land in the Bangalawatta area of Polgahawela. The victims, ages 28 and 35, were from the Eheliyagoda area, according to the police. Initial investigations indicate that they were electrocuted after touching an illegally installed electric wire meant to protect crops from wild animals. A caretaker of the land has been arrested in connection with the incident. The Polgahawela Police are continuing their investigation.
