An Israeli airstrike in Kfarhata, a village in southern Lebanon, resulted in the deaths of seven individuals, including a 4-year-old child, according to a statement from Lebanon's health ministry. Another strike targeted the Jnah neighborhood in Beirut, killing four more people and injuring 39 others, the ministry reported. The attack on Kfarhata came after the Israeli military ordered residents to evacuate the village overnight. As Lebanese Christians, who represent about one-third of the population, celebrated Easter Sunday, the country faced one of its most violent days since conflict with Israel began early last month. Throughout the day, the sounds of airstrikes and low-flying planes filled the air in Beirut. State media reported that eight airstrikes hit the southern suburbs of the capital. Earlier on Sunday, the Lebanese army announced that an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon had killed one soldier. On Saturday, the Israeli military issued an evacuation warning for Lebanon’s Masnaa border crossing with Syria, the main entry point between the two nations, claiming it was being used by the Lebanese Hezbollah group for military activities. Lebanon became involved in the Middle East conflict when Iranian-backed Hezbollah started launching rockets at Israel on March 2 in support of Tehran. Israel has carried out strikes on Lebanon and invaded the south, marking a significant escalation in the violence stemming from the U.S.-Israeli conflict with Iran.
