The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) has reported a notable drop in the number of foreign tourists visiting Sri Lanka in March 2026. The total arrivals for the month were 183,979, which is a decline of 19.7% compared to March 2025. The SLTDA noted that the largest group of visitors came from India, with 47,533 tourists, making up 26% of the total. Following India were tourists from the United Kingdom (18,092), Russia (15,685), Germany (13,429), China (14,064), and France (8,359).
