Schoolboy killed, another critically injured en route to big match in Kandy

A Grade 12 student lost his life, and another was severely hurt in a tragic accident this morning (02) when their motorcycle hit a bus on the Kandy–Digana road close to the Pallekele Army Camp, according to police reports. The two boys were riding their motorcycle to the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium to assist in organizing a big school match when the crash happened. After the collision, both students were reportedly run over by the bus. The injured student is currently in critical care at Kandy National Hospital. Pallekele Police are looking into the accident to determine if poor road conditions or driver mistakes played a role.
