The Colombo Magistrate’s Court issued open warrants today (02) for the arrest of Shamindra Rajapaksa, a former board member of SriLankan Airlines and the son of ex-Minister Chamal Rajapaksa, along with Priyanka Niyomali Wijenayake, who is the wife of former SriLankan Airlines CEO Kapila Chandrasena. This decision was made by Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga Bodaragama after reviewing a request from the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), according to a report from Ada Derana. The Magistrate has ordered that the warrants be shared with all airports throughout Sri Lanka. Officials have been directed to detain the suspects when they return to the country and to inform CIABOC about their arrest. The Controller General of Immigration and Emigration has also been notified of this order.
