Actress arrested for allegedly pawning cricketer s gold chain without consent

A young actress was arrested today (30) for allegedly pawning a gold necklace without permission. According to the police, she was brought before the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court. The actress is accused of pawning a gold chain, worth over Rs. 900,000, which belonged to a national cricketer at a financial institution in Battaramulla. She received Rs. 600,000 for the necklace. The Talangama Police Crimes Division took her into custody and presented her in court. During the proceedings, her lawyer told the court that even though the necklace was pawned, it could be retrieved and returned to its rightful owner. The Acting Magistrate granted bail for the actress, setting two surety bails at Rs. 500,000 each. The court also instructed the Talangama Police to secure the necklace and submit it as evidence.
