Iran has received US 15-point plan, Pakistan says
Iran has received a 15-point plan from the United States, according to two officials from Pakistan speaking to the Associated Press. These officials shared details about the proposal, which includes: relief from sanctions, cooperation on civilian nuclear matters, a reduction in Iran’s nuclear activities, oversight by the International Atomic Energy Agency, restrictions on Iran’s missile program, and access for shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Israeli Channel 12 has also reported on the details of this plan, with further information available in a previous post. Donald Trump stated yesterday that the US is speaking with the "right people" in Iran, adding that they are eager to reach an agreement. He claimed that Iran has consented to never pursue a nuclear weapon and has offered the US a significant "present" related to oil and gas and the Strait of Hormuz. However, Iran denied that it is in talks with the US, with a military spokesperson jokingly suggesting that the US is negotiating with itself.
