Court to decide on arrest warrants in SriLankan Airbus deal probe on April 2
The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has set April 2, 2026, as the date to announce its decision on whether to issue arrest warrants for two individuals. These include the wife of Kapila Chandrasena, the former CEO of SriLankan Airlines, and Shamindra Rajapaksa, a former board member of the airline and the son of ex-Minister Chamal Rajapaksa. Both are considered suspects in a bribery case connected to the Airbus aircraft deal. Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama made this decision after reviewing evidence from officials at the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), according to a report by Ada Derana.
