Iran launched two ballistic missiles aimed at the U.S.-U.K. military base Diego Garcia, located in the Indian Ocean, according to a report from the semi-official Mehr news agency on Saturday. Earlier, The Wall Street Journal had reported that the missiles were intermediate-range and that they did not strike the base. Mehr described the attack on the base as a “significant step,” indicating that the range of Iran’s missiles is greater than what their adversaries had expected.
