China calls for immediate stop to military operations in Middle East
A spokesperson from China announced on Wednesday that the country urges an immediate halt to military actions in the Middle East. This call aims to prevent further tensions and to encourage dialogue and negotiations for peace and stability in the region. Lou Qinjian, speaking at a press conference before the opening of the fourth session of the 14th National People’s Congress, stated that China will continue to act as a responsible major nation. The spokesperson noted that China is closely monitoring the situation and emphasized the need to respect Iran's sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity. Lou also highlighted that mutual respect and equality among all nations, regardless of size, are essential for historical progress and are fundamental principles of the UN Charter. He stressed that no country has the right to control international matters, dictate the fate of others, or monopolize developmental advantages, nor should any country impose its will on the world. This stance is particularly relevant for nations like Sri Lanka that are observing international relations closely.
