Petition filed by ex-Deputy Sec. Gen of Parliament fixed for consideration
The Court of Appeal in Sri Lanka has scheduled a hearing for the petition submitted by former Deputy Secretary General of Parliament, Chaminda Kularatne. He is asking the court to issue a writ order to overturn his suspension, which he claims was made without a fair investigation. The court will review the petition on March 18, 2026. This matter was discussed today (March 3) in front of a panel that included President of the Court of Appeal, Rohantha Abeysuriya, and Justice Priyantha Fernando. Chaminda Kularatne attended the court session. After listening to the arguments from both sides, the judges decided to consider the petition further on March 18, 2026, to confirm the facts.
