Petrol bomb attack on Gintota house; Police launch probe
In the early hours of today, October 25, a house in Gintota, Galle was attacked with petrol bombs, according to police reports. A group of unknown people approached the home on Ginganga Mawatha and threw a petrol bomb onto the roof. They also launched another device into the front yard. The first bomb exploded on contact, causing damage to part of the roof. Fortunately, the second bomb did not explode, which limited additional damage. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported. Police are currently investigating to find out who did this and why. Sources indicate that one of the residents of the house had run as a candidate on the National People’s Power (NPP) extra list in the last local government election.
