Traffic disruptions expected due to railway crossing repairs on Kelani Valley Line

Sri Lanka Railways has informed the public about upcoming repairs at the railway crossing on the High-Level Road close to Kiriwandala Station (Mile 35, Chain 30). This crossing is located between Puwakpitiya and Avissawella on the Kelani Valley Railway Line, and will be temporarily closed for necessary work. The repair work is set to take place from March 05 to March 08, 2026. During this time, sections of the main road will experience partial and complete traffic closures.
