Three people were hurt when a car went off the road and fell about 100 feet down a cliff in Norton Bridge. The accident happened in the 3rd Mile Post area on the Norton Bridge–Laxapana main road. The car was returning to Avissawella after a visit to Sri Pada (Adam’s Peak). The injured passengers were taken to the Laxapana Regional Hospital. Later, two of them were moved to the Nawalapitiya Base Hospital for more treatment. Police believe the driver might have fallen asleep before the crash. The car was badly damaged in the incident. The Norton Bridge Police are investigating further.
