Sri Lanka still lacking infrastructure to gain maximum benefit of AI technology- President
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has pointed out that Sri Lanka still lacks the necessary infrastructure to fully benefit from artificial intelligence (AI) technology. He made this remark during his speech at the leaders’ plenary of the ‘AI Impact Summit 2026’ held in New Delhi. This plenary, organized by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, gathers global leaders for important talks about the future of AI. In his address, President Dissanayake emphasized the critical need for countries to work together in developing AI in a fair, culturally sensitive, and accessible way. He warned that the growing divide between nations with strong AI capabilities and those without could create serious risks for global progress and inclusion.
