President Anura Kumara Dissanayake will meet with School Development Officers who are currently on a hunger strike outside the Presidential Secretariat. They are demanding permanent jobs. Dharmasiri Gamage, the Director General of Public Relations at the Presidential Secretariat, informed the protesters of the meeting today (30). It is set for 6:00 p.m. on 03 February 2026. However, Viraj Manaranga, the Secretary of the School Development Officers’ Association, mentioned that all development officers need to attend a meeting on 02 February 2026. He requested that the discussion with the President take place before that date.
