A father allegedly killed his 14-year-old daughter with a sharp weapon after a fight about a mobile phone last night (30), according to police reports. The girl lived in Delkada, Uragasmanhandiya. Initial investigations suggest that during a disagreement, the father attacked her with a billhook. She was rushed to Elpitiya Hospital with serious injuries but died while receiving treatment. The police have taken the father into custody, and the girl's body is now in the mortuary at Elpitiya Hospital. The Uragasmanhandiya Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
